The short version
- You must be 21 or older to buy any product in any of our stores.
- Our Alabama stores do not admit anyone under 21, even with a parent.
- We check a valid photo ID on every purchase, no matter how old you look.
Why
Federal law (the Tobacco 21 law of 2019) sets the minimum age to buy any tobacco or nicotine product, including vapes and e-liquid, at 21, and requires retailers to check photo ID for anyone under 30. Alabama's specialty vape retailer law (Act 2025-403, effective June 1, 2025) goes further: licensed specialty retailers like our Alabama stores must keep people under 21 out of the store entirely and must use third-party age verification at the entrance. We apply ID checks to every customer, every time, at all seven stores.
IDs we accept
- State driver license or state ID card
- U.S. passport or passport card
- U.S. military ID
- Foreign passport
The ID must be current, unexpired, show your photo and date of birth, and be the original document. We do not accept photos of IDs, expired IDs, or temporary paper licenses without the expired card.
We may refuse a sale
Staff may refuse entry or a sale if an ID looks altered or does not match the person presenting it, or if we believe the product is being bought for someone under 21. Buying for someone under 21 is against the law.
